WHAT IF THE TEXT IS TOO LARGE? That's easy. Make it smaller.
My ebooks have large text for people with low vision. (That's the favored term for being extremely visually impaired – only partially sighted – not fully blind but close to it.)
However, many people with more usual vision also enjoy reading my ebooks, but the large text sometimes irritates or impedes them.
Here's a few combinations for displaying smaller text.
SMALL PAGES
• Keep the reading mode at single page
, but reduce the text size to a smaller value. Some folks find 50% comfortable.

NARROW COLUMNS
• Use the reduced text size but change the reading mode to Continuous
and keep scrolling down with PgDn.TWO-PAGE SPREAD
• Set the text size on the View menu at Fit Page
and change the reading mode to Facing.

This displays the text like a printed booklet in "landscape" orientation.
When you click the next-page arrowhead,
an invisible hand (I'll be publishing Adam Smith's "Wealth of Nations" soon) picks up the right-hand page and turns it over to the left, displaying the next two-page spread.
